With the Top Marques luxury and supercar show in Monaco getting underway today there were plans for the new Aeromobil flying car to fly into Cannes Mandelieu airport before continuing its journey with a drive along the Riviera coast to the car show in Monaco.

However, plans were foiled as full flight approval was not received from the aviation authorities. Visitors to the show will still be able to see this amazing creation but instead of landing in dramatic fashion it will be stationary. You will however get the chance to see it transform from plane to car as it morphs between the two forms every twenty minutes.

The company describes the AeroMobil 3.0 as “a car that fits into any standard parking space, uses regular gasoline, and can be used in road traffic just like any other car.

“As a plane it can use any airport in the world, but can also take off and land using any grass strip or paved surface just a few hundred metres long.”

Other exciting exhibits at the car show will include the unveiling of the Toroidion MW1 Concept; very little has actually been revealed by Finnish manufacturers about the vehicle, except that it will be fully electric and develop one megawatt of power, hence the 1MW name.

VIP visitors will also be invited to test drive the supercars on a section of the legendary Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit. No other supercar show in the world offers visitors the experience, the pure power and precision of customized luxury supercars with a test drive.

So if you are looking for something different to do this weekend on the French Riviera then why not head to Monaco and enjoy the Top Marques Monaco 2015 show.
